Design for Democracy: Ballot + Election
Design has received a GOLD IDEA award
from BusinessWeek and IDSA. This
book, written and designed at Studio/lab,
shares the stories and results of a
comprehensive design reform initiative.
Our work in elections began when the now
infamous “butterfly ballot” became the
subject of media attention during the hotly
contested presidential election of 2000,
and now serves as the basis for national
guidelines endorsed by the U.S. Election
Assistance Commission.
